In this work we propose to analyze the evolution of Lenin's political thought on the national question, its specificity and its strategic place, as well as the different options that are proposed for its democratic resolution (secession, federation, autonomy). We fundamentally distinguish three main phases, related to different historical periods, cases and debates - especially with Rosa Luxemburg, but also with Austro-Marxism, the Bund and members of her own party -, until reaching her latest reflections and proposals regarding the conflictive construction of what will be the new USSR. We consider that the analysis of his reflections and proposals continues to be relevant to address this issue, so controversial but very real in many of the conflicts that our planet is going through.
