This work aims to analyze some features of the XXII World Cup in Qatar, 2022, from a geographical perspective that considers the configuration of space by the Qatari political leadership through the complex network of companies it controls as the basis. In the first section, a review is carried out on the spatial conformation of the State of Qatar through its geopolitical and diplomatic actions. The second part describes some of Qatar's business networks through the example of seven of its main companies and the influence of some of these to generate investment in professional sport. In the third section, an interpretation is expressed about the production of space and the generation of infrastructure in Qatar when obtaining the headquarters for the World Cup 2022.
